Matteo Biella - Copy & Paste Architecture: Uniqueness Within

Former artist-in-residence at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel Matteo Biella is showing his works during his exhibition 'Copy & Paste Architecture: Uniqueness Within' at Luxelakes. A4 Art Museum.

Directly inspired by the research phase of the built environment in ChengDu, this series of works investigate the steps and thinking behind the design process of “C&P Architecture”. “C&P architecture” can at first sight look tedious but if examined with care it will unfold a whole series of irregularities that break its order and add to its beauty. 

Irregularities, imperfections, imbalance, are to some extent unavoidable in design but can be used on purpose as “design tools” to achieve well balanced compositions.
