Peter Vink - Parklicht 2019

Former artist-in-residence Peter Vink from the Netherlands is showing his latest light installation at Parklicht 2019 in Amsterdam.

For the third year in a row we present Parklicht in the northern part of Amsterdam's Oosterpark. Parklicht is an exhibition of fifteen light installations, light objects and light projections, arranged along paths, in the green, in the water and in or on buildings. Visitors walk from one work of art to another with a map in their hand. Some of the artworks are somewhat hidden; some are set up in locations where there is normally no public (the map is therefore essential.) We also give as little as possible of what exactly will be shown. This makes Parklicht a true "discovery tour" through the Oosterpark.

This is the last part of a "trilogy" in which only works of art are shown that are non-figurative and non-narrative, and that are based on the use of white light only. The vast majority of contributions are made specifically for Parklicht. Keywords: quirky, abstract, geometric, tranquil.

Maps can be obtained for free during Parklicht at the receptions of Hotel Arena, Generator Hostel, Tropen Hotel and Café-Restaurant De Tropen, or download here: front | rear end
