Former artist-in-residence Pedro Collantes' latest feature film 'El Arte de Volver' (The Art of Return) premiers at this year's 77th Venice International Film Festival. Created as part of the Biennale College Cinema program it has been selected by the Biennale di Venezia for the film festival.

Pedro Collantes stayed at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel from March to June 2013. During his residency has was mainly working on a feature film which was at the same time his graduation project. Watch the video to learn more about his experience at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel.

"El Arte de Volver" is the outcome of Pedro's participation of this year's Biennale College Cinema.

"In El Arte de Volver I would like to encapsulate a feeling. The feeling of a common ground steadily eroding when returning home after a period abroad. By creating a juxtaposition of encounters that accumulate in Noemí’s body and soul, my intention is to capture the unconscious fragmenting of personal relationships with its mix of both emotional and lighthearted, humorous moments. I’m interested in contrasting those moments of disintegration that are the result of small decisions, with the perspective of Noemí’s grandfather: an understanding friend who is sagely approaching death."
