"This trace work, when completed, was spontaneously named ‘Cocktail and the Riverbank’. The image I used to make the stereogram panels came from a film shot I took at a Chinese antique market several years ago, showing broomsticks made from rooster tail feathers. I thought it was an interesting play-on-words with indirect associations to the hotel culture that is deeply rooted in the residency. The painting in the middle is an abstract representation of the clouds at dawn on the other side of the riverbank, where I ritualistically visit when I finish my studio hours in the early morning."
