"Drawing "fake" mosaics is the basic painting language I have been exploring and using recently. I embedded a Chinese poem in this work, which is part of a series of peoms I created during the closure of Shanghai in 2022. In the painting, Chinese characters only appear as mud cracks between mosaics. This is my true response to the present situation of survival and expression. If the audience ignores the text, the painting is also established as an "abstract" work or a figurative work that only presents "mosaics". Therefore, this painting has at least three dimensions of appreciation." (Han Bo, 2023)
