"I made a lot of projects during my stay in the Swatch Art Peace Hotel, but I choose to leave as a trace a particular work called BWL1. This painting is really representative of what the residency was for me, as a turning point for my research and start the line that I still following today in my practice. BWL1 is a large size painting canvas made from black and white only, where the construction and the design process is crucial. Here the statement of work is getting more complex and this new rules are added to the basic ones." (Jean-Charles Kien, 2016)
