"During my residency period, I've been creating paper collage, drawing, and battery installation based on West Bund art district area in the Shanghai city. The trace pieces are part of the collage work. This series of works created for gallery buildings in West Bund area inspired by Chinese SF novels. In the Chinese SF novels, time and space of modern Chinese history were folded, edited, piled up, and unfolded. I visualized the landscape of the regeneration project spaces, especially West Bund's gallery buildings, following the novel's method. I've personalized the time and space of the gallery buildings by frottaged (拓本) surface with aluminum sheets, and then reorganized it into a space in one plane overlaid with the site's form and construction materials of the area."
