After their fall from heaven, mitosis continues as Adam and Eve give birth to two brothers: Cain and Abel. God requires a sacrifice of both. Abel offers the best sheep of his flock, while Cain, who tilled the earth, sacrifices only the fruit of the land. And God liked Abel’s offering but He did not like Cain’s. Cain does not understand why God doesn’t like his offering and is angry. He envies his brother and kills him in a field. Then God curses Cain and all his descendants, and marks him on the forehead so that people might recognize him and flee from him when they see him come." (Johannes Wewetzer, 2023)
