"The central theme of this new body of work is the exploration of contrasts in Chinese culture – here the fusion of artistic oppositions of Shanghai´s architecture and society assumes a major role – and the pursuit of individual harmony in an engineered surrounding.
The artwork “Bowl” is based on a tissue created from thousand kilometers of thread and acrylic paint with my self-invented Thread-Drip Painting technique.
The natural, chaotic element is being symbolized by this technique; coincidental connections and incidents that shape our reality and perception. In contrast, geometric lines connecting the junctions of the tissue - the attempt to bring order into chaos. Appointments and plans are expected to force reality into a grid; trying to move from point to point and blinding out being always subject to natural chaos." (Katharina Lehmann, 2020)
