"Taking the castles away from the Garden of Earthly Delight, getting rid of its background and all the living beings used to stay with them. In this way I turned the castles from subjects into context, so that when I stay with the castles, I became the subject in the context. What would my story be like?
These canvases were walls of my own studio, I always love to paint on the wall, so I turned all my walls into canvases. I moved the space from Shandong to Shanghai by moving the walls, to fill them, with my minutes, hours of feelings and thoughts." (Rowena Liangru Liu, 2022)
