New artist arrival: Andreas Zimmermann

Performing artist and stage director Andreas Zimmermann from Switzerland arrives at the artist residence.

Artistic focus: Performing Arts / Chinese Opera

Andreas Zimmermann is a Swiss stage director and actor with international professional experience. His art is to create, develop and direct stage concepts from theatre repertoire together with visual and performing artists.

For his residency he chose the 崑曲 opera 李慧娘 (Li Huiniang) with the idea of a new orchestration by a contemporary Chinese composer and influenced by western theatre aesthetics and techniques.
