New artist arrival: Andrew Brown

Composer and sound designer Andrew Bown from Canada arrives at the artist residence.

Andrew Brwon is passionate about synthesizers and sound production. After almost 20 years away from the electroacoustic and improvisational scene in Toronto, he had the opportunity to return to the modular synth community in China.

During his stay he’s planning to build a sound machine that generates a continuous stream of changing music from purely analog circuitry. The music will likely tend towards the abstract, but the goal is for sound that is immediately recognizable as music with familiar elements of percussion, harmony, rhythm, etc.
