Maggie Li is a filmmaker and artist from China, she also worked as co-producer of Ascension, nominated for the Oscars 2022 in the category "Best Documentary Feature".

The artist’s proposed documentary project will feature a particular neighborhood bar called Time Passage, which has been operating in Shanghai since 1994 and has become the “public parlor” for actors, directors, musicians, painters, writers and other artists alike. Some of them have been bosom friends for decades without having each other’s WeChat contact, a rare presence in the ever-digitally-connected world and is against the overtly utilitarian attribute of friendship and interpersonal connections.
