Shinobu Eto is a Tokyo-based koto (箏) player, originally trained in traditional music by her grand aunt, a "national living treasure of art" in Japan. She has also been exploring experimental sound/music. During her stay, Shinobu aims to explore Shanghai and create a complex bricolage of history, local culture, and sound, bridging the koto's past with its future.
