New artist arrival: Stefania Orru

Visual artist and painter Stefania Orru from Italy arrives at the artist residence.

During her residency the Stefania Orru plans to realize a series of medium-sized works which would then be assembled to one single piece to finally create a sort of large polyptych. In these paintings the artist would like to be able to prioritize the material by bringing it to its most essential state: whiteness, with its myriad of hues, and smoothness.

Stefania Orrù, works professionally as an artist since 1999. She started working for a master, a painter from Umbria in a “bottega” of the medieval and renaissance times, she uses ancient material and revisited ancient techniques.
