New artist arrival: Yu Wenjie

The Chinese multidisciplinary artist Yu Wenjie arrives at the artist residence. Artistic focus: Mixed Media Painting, Sculpture, Textile Art

During his residency, Yu Wenjie will be using "memories" as the main theme of his works. His works are an expression of the inner experience of the body and mind in the process of experiencing and exploring the world. Yu Wenjie is accustomed to combining history and the future in a leap way so that his artworks express "the present is both the past and the future". He holds an MFA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art (London, UK) as well as from the China Academy of Art in Experimental Art. He is currently living and working in Shanghai.
