"Through the guidance of Alec Von Bargen, Lynne Roberts-Goodwin & my fellow residents I went on a mixed medium journey through recording audible interviews with multiple individuals that share both similarities and differences. I transcribed their words (& my thoughts) onto digital paper and turned the camera onto myself as daily self portraits. These different works came together with me layering, abstract drawing and superimposing my findings into one amorphous self portrait.

I chose this subject matter because it is currently in the front of my mind - the urgent need to find commonality (as peoples) amongst our differences. The Swatch Art Peace Hotel created & held a safe space for us to be comfortable to explore these vulnerable internal spaces - I will forever be grateful." (Pierre de Villiers, 2022)
