Zongbo Jiang

"The Golden Age of Species: South China Tiger is a speculative sculptural work developed during my residency at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai.

The project reimagines the South China Tiger, a functionally extinct species in the wild, as a symbolic figure existing between memory, mythology, and a possible future. Through digital sculpting, 3D printing, and display installation, the work explores how endangered species could be represented not only as ecological subjects, but also as cultural identities and future relics.

Presented inside a custom display case, the sculpture reflects on preservation, disappearance, and the changing relationship between humans, technology, and nature in contemporary China." (Zongbo Jiang, 2026)
