Yes we CAN: City, Art and Nature
The Swatch Art Peace Hotel presents ‘Yes we CAN: City, Art and Nature’: Exhibition at the Miguel de Cervantes Library in Shanghai unites Spanish- and Chinese-speaking artists, former residents at Swatch Art Peace Hotel.
Swatch loves art and offers a unique opportunity for artists to live and work for a few months in a creative space at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai. Since 2011, the unique artist residency has collaborated with selected destinations worldwide to display the artists' work and bring art to everyday life.
This spring, the Swatch Art Peace Hotel and the Miguel de Cervantes Library in Shanghai present ‘YES WE CAN: City, Art and Nature,’ an exhibition to celebrate the power of diversity and the sense of belonging. The exhibition runs from April 1st to June 4th, 2023. It creates a bridge between two cultures by featuring a selection of artworks created by Spanish-speaking and Chinese artists who have been residents of the Swatch Art Peace Hotel over the last decade. The fact that the artists are from different countries and cultures and yet have been able to find common ground through their work, is a testament to the power of art in building bridges between people.
‘YES WE CAN: City, Art and Nature’ focuses on the relationship between urban environments and the natural world. Visitors are invited to journey through the art that celebrates the power of diversity and the connection between different ways of thinking, working, and living.
