"This work is inspired by a journey I took with artist friends I met during the residency, which is significant to me. The depiction of the seaside, mangoes, and seemingly chaotic yet secretly ordered clouds in the painting serves as imagery of inner desires from a personal experience. I portray them with high-saturation colors, contrasting with the ambiguous, sensitive, and fragile subtle emotions hidden beneath the flower faces of the figures." (Huang Huihong, 2024)
