"In most of the works from the Monostriped landscape series inspired by the Shanghai, at the beginning I used traditional dyeing to change the natural color of the silk fabric. However, before I started the final dyeing process, I made several samples to match the shades. After a few days of dyeing and drying the materials, I used the faux chenille quilt technique to obtain relief structures of the fabrics. Both silk fabrics and natural pigments were taken from Shanghai and the surrounding area." (Jakub Święcicki, 2024)
