"This sculpture is an study in physical and conceptual time. A still image is created through digital slit-scanning, whereby the length of the image represents subjects passing in front of the camera. The descending escalator going down appears to be going in the opposite direction of the ascending one. Thus, relative motion assumes a physical space.

Taking this into account, the sculpture encapsulating the image is based on a Möbius strip, a mathematical and geometric model in which directional orientation becomes impossible." (Marc Aziz Ressang, 2024)
