Day of the red
"Unlike New Year's holidays in Japan, the whole city of Shanghai is decorated in red, and I felt very gorgeous, beautiful, and powerful. All red fabrics are from Shanghai. I wanted to express the vitality of the city of Shanghai and the joy of celebrating the new year with works made of Shanghai fabrics." (Natsuko Hattori, 2020)
The night
"This is the first work I made in Shanghai. The materials are fabrics and ribbons, all found in Shanghai. Shanghai’s night view was very beautiful. I wanted to express the brilliant night of Shanghai and the power of the city." (Natsuko Hattori, 2020)
Blue flow
"The materials used are Japanese KIMONO and KIMONO’s belt (OBI). The artwork is inspired by Huangpu river and sky in Shanghai." (Natsuko Hattori, 2020)
Bloom
"The materials used are Japanese KIMONO and fabrics.
私は、この作品で春を表現した。(I expressed spring in this work.)"
