I thought you understood me! — Unwritten Stories Series

"Materially these red threads are also twisting, turning and warping with many imperfections as the paper surfaces changes over time, much like stories themselves. Perfect stories are not interesting nor are they real. As I look to name works  in this collection, As one steps out the Peace Hotel into the city of Shanghai there is a a lot we can hear I’m inspired by dialogs or stolen conversations that help to personify the works, bring them to life and evoke a story between people." (Sabrina Jauffret, 2022)

Autumn Blossom — Part of the Fragmented Constellations series

"Autumn Blossom represents a changing of many seasons in the unforgettable year of 2022 when Shanghai suffered severe lockdowns that shook the essence of this great city. For those of us who have stayed through this period we’ve have witnessed Shanghai blossom in autumn after a muted summer as the city regains its confidence. As citizens we have been forced to adapt, change and reframe how we live day-to-day and year-by-year. The Fragmented Constellation series is always evocative of this: Changing beautifully, remaining resilient optimistically.

The original pattern is created using linocut technique then transferred to embroidery. The embroidered diamond-shaped disks are mounted to magnetic sheets. The artwork lives on a canvas surface with a wooden frame and an acrylic casing box." (Sabrina Jauffret, 2022)
