New artist arrival: Qiurui Du

Visual artist and writer Qiurui Du from China arrives at the artist residence.

Qiurui Du observes people's lives from his unique perspective and bring the hustle and bustle of unique experiences around himself into his works. He constructed a virtual world through his childhood fantasies and memories when he lived in Beijing. Qiurui Du uses characters to form exaggerated and crazy narratives and witty theatrical sets, showing intimate and familiar resonance.

Often his works are telling the stories of others, or telling his stories from the perspective of others. During his stay the artist plans to create a series of works that are more personal.
