New artist arrival: Shin Yatagai

Japanese photographer Shin Yatagai arrives at the artist residence.

Shina Yatagai is a photographer specializing in fashion and still-life photography. For the project during his residency he has chosen to present the subtle beauty, rawness, and cultural elements of China in a contemporary manner and one or several artbooks. The contents of these books delve deep into classical elements, such as those that are intangible (like wind, spirit, air, temperature, and humidity), texture, macro nature, the lives of various communities, and portraits. Shin Yatagai has studied in the U.K. and Japan and is currently living and working in Shanghai.
