New artist arrival: Sebastian Supanz

Visual artist Sebastian Supanz from Austria arrives at the artist residence.

Sebastian Supanz creates whimsical artworks using colored wool instead of paint and a felting needle instead of a brush. In his works, a knight motif, originating from a childhood drawing by his older brother, frequently appears. This motif contrasts sharply with the soft and delicate texture of the wool. In Sebastian's latest series, he reinterprets his previous creations using artificial intelligence technology, selecting digital works generated by AI for further appropriation and explanation, ultimately transforming them into physical works, such as felted art pieces or paintings.

He studied Painting and Transmedia Art at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and at FAAP São Paulo, Brazil and is currently living and working in Vienna, Austria.
