The Shanghai Vibe

Inspired by the vibrant pulse of Shanghai, a city where tradition meets innovation and stillness flows into movement, Swatch presents The Shanghai Vibe by Swatch Art Peace Hotel at the Kunsthaus in Biel/Bienne.

The exhibition brings together works by 22 artists-in-residence, each shaped by their time living and working in Shanghai. Their diverse practices capture the city’s dynamic energy through stories, forms, rhythms, and materials, reflecting a constant dialogue between tradition and experimentation, reality and imagination.

Presented in Biel/Bienne, the home of Swatch, the exhibition celebrates 15 years of the residency program, a journey of creative exchange, cultural encounters, and artistic discovery.

For over 40 years, Swatch has fostered a deep connection with art. At its heart, the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai—founded in 2011—offers artists from around the world a unique space to focus on what matters most: CREATE.
